HORRIBLE experience. The owner had a "shoplifter" at gunpoint while I was there. Only problem is that the guy put energy drinks in his pant pockets...three of them...while shopping and never left the store. So it was "intent to shoplift" and the owner threatened to kill him. With a gun that he had in his hand. I walked into the middle of it I'd pulled up to the pumps for gas...I was out of gas completely and sadly had no choice...and my credit card swipe didn't work as I have a chip and pin...so it said to go to the cashier and I did. I opened up the door and a man with a gun in hand told me to get inside. He then began to scream about a shoplifter. There was a man at the cashier nearly in tears trying to get money out of his trousers..the three drinks were $12. And when he handed the last of the money to the cashier, she wouldn't let him have even one of the drinks...HE PAID FOR THEM AND NEVER LEFT THE STORE WITH MERCHANDISE THAT WASN'T PAID FOR. The owner said to me that he had no right to the drinks, as he was trying to steal them. Now, the guy was stoned, but seriously...threatening to take someone's life over pop is just nuts. I'd never been in this store before and was totally freaked out. While standing behind this fella, and in the middle of it all, I noticed that the walls of the station were covered with stills from the video showing "shoplifters" but some of them just appeared to be people in line...not stealing anything at all....so I'm thinking that this owner is obsessed with the idea that people steal from him. Which is probably sadly, true...but waving a gun is not a great idea. Anyway, I told the owner that the man should be able to have the drinks as he paid for them. The cashier gave him one can, and then the stoned guy became furious that he was threatened, he said he'd call the cops (as he should) and the owner was just shouting at him. At this point, a woman walked in who knew the stoned fella, asked what was going on and the owner screamed at her, too. Said they both weren't allowed back in the store ever. And she said she was fine with that and didn't want trouble. The stoned fella finally moved away from the counter and I showed the cashier my credit card (I really needed gas) and she put on $20 and I went to the pumps. While pumping the gas, the police arrived. I was NEVER SO HAPPY to get away from this madness. I just wanted gas.
